Okay people. I needs money, and I needs it soon. I can't stand this pain in my face. It's making me crazy.

So. For Christmas, if you want to get me a present... will you pimp out my Etsy Store?
Hey, will you pimp it out even if you don't want to get me a present? Pretty please, with candy and love and sprinkles?
There's not much at the shop right now... I'm putting it up bit-by-bit. But there will be moare, and it shall be cute. Soo... O-ne-ga-i?

Also, I'm open for amigurumi, and sketch commissions. And it's CHEAP.
On my Etsy shop, my amigurumi has a particular price set to it, which is my selling preference. BUT, if anyone where to order an amigurumi from me through this LJ post, and tell me the magical word, (Magical Word: "Fiddlesticks") they would most certainly be getting an amigurumi for a discount. That is to say, $5, and free shipping inside the US. lulz, truth.
You can pick the color and everything, using my wonderful Yarn Chart. (Which is a rather large image, so...beware.)

wanna see what my amigurumi things look like, to get an idea? -=Click This=- (You will need a password to see this album. The password is: wisdom)

I'm also doing $5 sketch commissions~ I'll draw...ANYTHING.
Plus, if you want a sketch AND an amigurumi, I'll do the sketch for $2 instead of $5. Ufufufufu
For sketch samples, -=Click This=- (Again, password is: wisdom)

So... Pimp my shop? Buy my shit?

Okay, so... I'm a little concerned. today, I tried to check up on LJ, only to see that I was signed out. This is weird, since I'm the only one who uses this computer (especially for LJ). So... I try to log back in.
Which fails FOUR TIMES.
So I go to Yahoo, where an email is waiting for me which says I've recently had a password change.

Hmmmm. Okay, well, thanks for trying to hack me, hacker, but it wasn't very nice. ~__~;
Grat way to take a break from studying.

Well, my password has been reset, and now I'm crabby.
I also checked a few of my other accounts to make sure nothing happened to them too... When I looked at my bank account, I was NEGATIVE $5! That was after I knew I had about $100 in there.
But that's my fault entirely. I forgot the stupid hospital is still leeching me of $100 at the end of each month.
Fuckers.

Anyway. Um. Blah? I'll reply to people and whatnot after I get the last of my work done. I'm not ignoring you, I promise~

Even similar facial scars... One has to wonder, BOTI prequel? *hopeful*

First up! Just a gimpy sketch of Dream, from Sandman. I haven't drawn him in a while, and he's a way awesome character, so~

Next~ Picture of Alice, from Alice In Wonderland~ She's stolen the Hatter's Hat, Ufufufufufu~ I'm hesitant to work on this, since I'm using copics... (I'm so unfamiliar with this medium, but I love it lots. .___.; )

Then some Mushishi fanart that I drew a while ago~ I can't remember if I ever posted this or not. :\ I don't think I did... But before, I didn't really like this, because Adashino turned out wiggy. Now, I think I can appreciate it a little more, because Ginko's in a kimono. :3

Here is a picture of Kandaaa~! This is for you, M-chan. ^___^ It's the one of him in a war-colored kimono, that you requested as your Christmas present. X3 It's on really big paper, but only a little bit of the top of his head got cut off. () And it's watercolor paper, so it has those grey shadowy places. T____T But the colors seemed to have scanned very well! I hope you like it! (sorry about the wait)

Then another Ukiyo-e~ This one, I tried to get a punk and Kabuki feel into one picture. The sketch isn't done yet, though~

Aaaaand~ my favorite ninja, Yume! :3 He's still being abnormally badass, but this time he's in a kimono! Samurai ninja...? I still have some punk going on, too... What is it with me and drawing people who messily pin their hair back? (Nahoko is like this too, when I draw her... @____@; )

Yaaaay, that's all! :D

Particles from the future have come down from the sky to permeate mine dreaming brains, yey verily

So, this morning I had a crazy, EPIC dream. It played out like a movie, and I woke up both scared out of my wits, and astounded.
In the dream, there were several different characters~ None of them knew each other, and I guess it all started playing out like Heros, in that they were all main characters, but completely unrelated throughout the entire dream. First there was a man who was on vacation with his family. He was a technology developer of some kind (what kind exactly was revealed later on) and he was given a vacation, since his research and development team had just completed something revolutionary. He took his wife and daughter to their favorite beach, where they spent the day relaxing.
Next there was a business man, who was off work for the weekend. He had five (or six?) children, all adopted, and all around the ages of 4 to 6. With him was a nurse maid who was in charge of taking care of all these kids. The father, the nurse, and the kids were all out having a stroll through downtown New York, on their way to the zoo.
There were a few other scenes like this~ A girl drawing, I think, and some other stuff. I forget most of the other people I saw, but they seemed a little less important somehow. *shrug*
And then, worldwide, there's a flash of white light, which starts in the sky and expands outwards. Almost instantly, the climate everywhere becomes warmer, as though the entire world suddenly hit the middle of a hot summer. The temperature keeps rising, and the light gets bigger and brighter, and soon it was coming down towards the ground.
Then there's the man with his five kids again. (My brain gives me the number five, but I know I counted six...) Some of the kids are fighting with each other, and one of them get hit on the head. He starts crying, and the father tells the nurse that she's allowed to comfort him. The nurse (who's the same, but also suddenly a pink android programmed for child care) is honored that she's allowed to hold her owner's son, and picks the boy up carefully. He back suddenly feels hot, and so she turns to look...
On top of a building is a person, who watches, confused and scared, as the white light and the heat rush towards him. The light gets closer, and suddenly everything inside him screams "dangerous!!" He takes a step backwards, but before he cam run, the light is all over him, and he feels, for just a second or two, the most unbearably painful heat, incinerating him. He feels himself turning instantly to dust.
The man, who's with his family on the beach, sees the light, and feels the temperature change, and tells his family to run, not walk, RUN! to the cave across the beach.
The nurse turns, holding the business man's son, and the whiteness covers them, and the other children, and the man, and all the people around them. There's that complete and incomprehensible heat again, and the nurse watches as the son's skin turn to ash in her arms. As for her, she's metallic, and her body gets so hot that it begins to boil.
Ther father, his wife, and his daughter are running as fast as they can along the beach, to the cave. All around the the air is too hot to stand, and even inside the cave it's warm. they rush to the back, and the light follows them. Then (for some reason) water fills the cave and washes the family further into the back, then into a cavern off to the side. The cavern has a hole in the top, and the three are forced through it, into another, smaller cavern. There, there's a hole which leads to the outside, but just as they swim up to take a breath of air, that whiteness comes and they have to duck back down. Even the water they're in feel like it's going to boil, and they have two swim even further down to keep from being killed.
After it's over, the father looks out the hole and tell his family that he's going to go out and look around. He climbs out of the cavern and tells his wife and daughter to stay put. After he's out, he peers up into the sky and mumbles, "I don't see it...where's the technology?" (Apparently he's referring to whatever caused the light, and that's the name it was given....? Crap if I know.) Then the three of them hear this high ear-piercing keen, and there's an explosion. Everything that was untouched by the light before, was then blown away by the largest bomb ever created. The father is thrown backwards from the blast, then torn apart by debris, and incinerated. After THAT'S over, the wife and daughter climb out~ Everything is covered in white ash, and the whole landscape is flat and empty. Off in the distance is a massive crater where the explosion came from, surrounded by a chain-link fence which was somehow still standing. There were even trees around that seemed untouched~ Eventually new reporters and the FIB showed up (don't ask where they came from... I don't know how they were still alive, or why they felt the need to bother with new after something like that happened @___@; ) and...then if just got weird. Some news lady was saying they had to gather food, and then everyone went over to the fence. During the blast, birds had been knocked from the trees and blown into the chain-link. Their feather were burn off, and their bodies were practically cooked, and so people starred prying then off of the fence and putting them in buckets. But they were super crispy. Like potato chip crispy.
Then the daughter recognized the place they were at, and realized that the crater was where her father used to work. Suddenly she knew that is was him who had developed the 'technology' that had just decimated practically the entire human population, and that was the secret thing he had been working so hard on. (and almost all the other flora and fauna as well)
Then I woke up, pretty wigged out, and my half-awake brain told me that I had just seen the future, and that it had been a possible WWIII. Then I decided that the part with the crispy birds was both disturbing, and stupid. Then I made some tea, because I still don't have any coffee. :( The end~

In other news, I found out that if I write down the dream I have, I'm more likely to have more that I can actually remember. Yay! :D
I'm trying to make Kata watch Gundam Wing, but I realize that her fandom for it won't be the same as mine, because she didn't grow up with it. *sad* Still...I'm determined to get her to the point where she'll at least be able to understand me when I say things like, "So I was reading this 1x5 fic the other day, but suddenly it turned into a 13x5, and I got really angry."
Referring to GW pairings by their numbers usually sounds like code to someone who's not familiar with the show. It's sort of like says MonoclexCigarette, or CoffexEyesocket to someone who's never seen Mushishi or D.gray.
Or StrawberriesxSewingNeedles to someone who's never seen Bleach.

I really don't like 13x5. >:\ GOSH.

So. I've been reading Blade of the Immortal lately, and love it. I wish I could draw like that~ T___T I hear they might be making it into an anime, and possibly a live-action. o__o Now, why didn't they think of that sooner? >:O
Also been reading Uzumaki, to get me in that horror mood. |3 Such an awful, awesome manga~

I DREW STUFF! AND STOLE KATA'S SCANNER!! ART DUMP IN MERE MOMENTS, YO!

No more coffee in the house~ I am most unhappy. :( But my coworkers keep telling me all the horrible facts about coffee, and make me feel guilty for drinking it. Like I'm poisoning myself. :\ Grrrr.
Well, I'm having tea today, anyway.

So, Maiko-sensei is moving away soon~ We have maybe another two classes left, and it's sad. She'll still come to Athens and visit every now and again, but it's quite a drive. :( This coming sunday she's going to introduce us to Kei-san, and see if maybewe can take classes from her now. She says Kei-san is super cool, and excited to meet us, so I hope things go well.
Even if they do though, Valeria says that her finances are getting a little low, so she'll prbably have to drop classes for a while. That means I'll be paying a little bit extra, and studying alone. .____.; But we'll still hang out and practice conversational stuff, and yadda yadda. It's not really a big deal or anything, it's just all a little depressing. :\

Soooo... every day has been abnormally warm recently. It's still only February, and only the nights are really chilly anymore. @___@; Last night it rained bit, and then got so foggy I could barely see the road while I was driving home. Creeeeepy. But I heard frogs outside, so I think spring is actually already showing up. O_o In the middle of winter, pretty much? I guess if it is, I can't really complain. I'm so tired of being cold. Actually, daffodils are up and blooming too, and mom's tulips are beginning to sprout~ So WEIRD!

When I get my own laptop, I want to start watching Coffee Prince (I'll have a better change of finding it with subs now that it's more popular) and Hana Kimi. Oooooh, I only saw half of the first episode, but I loved it~! I wanna watch more! Where's my check!

Today feel like a "Bonnets and Mushishi" day~ I think I shall go make bonnets and watch Mushishi. :3 (And try not to feel guilty for making my projectionist work a double on President's Day...)

Well, maybe not. Actually, I'm feeling pretty dead. ._____. Once again, I've had cramps that feel like all my organs grew spikes and started stabbing each other. I swear, one day I'm just going to die from either the pain, or the overdosing I do on Tylenol. @___@;
To top things off, I'm ITCHY EVERYWHERE! Allergic reaction? I have no idea. I'm not allergic to anything I know of. Something touches me, I get itchy. It started in my eyes, which are dry, scratchy, and FAT FAT FAT, and now it's everywhere.
Ah me. I'm always falling apart.
The good news is, I apparently looked horrible enough that my co worker volunteered to take my double shift today. and that was all before the itchy, swelly eyes. *phew* I think he probably saved my life. I actually started crying when he said I could go home. () I cry so much. *sigh*

VALENTINES DAY! Oh my gosh! M-chan, you think I live in a shoujo manga? I think you're right! Yesterday I got lead through the projection halls without explanation, to be brought over to secluded theater #1, where I was presented with a small stand~ On the stand were two roses, a giant bar of chocolate, a giant box of nerds, and....scotch tape? O_o My Valentine says he doesn't know why he bought the tape, but that "he just thought he should." Well, weirder things have happened. My mom gave me purple duct tape for Christmas once. (Maybe I just seem like an appropriate person to give tape to?) Anyway, it was incredibly sweet, (if not slightly hindered by the fact that my eyesight sucks, and said surprise was presented to me while it was still somewhat out of my range of vision. [I saw a green blur sitting on a black blur. XD] ) and I danced around in a little circle because I felt so gleeful.
Tee hee~ I feel dumb and girly~
On that note... I like this person a lot, and I do stupid manga things for him, and he does stupid manga things back, and we get along well. But I always feel like pulling away if his face gets too close to mine, or if he hugs me a little too close. :\ And sometimes I feel weepy or relieved when we're done hanging out. This makes no sense to me, because I know I have a crush on him, and he's fun to hang out with~ Still, every time it seems as though we might be getting serious, (and by serious, I mean...openly having a crush on? Not even kissing-status. Just 'giving it a shot' status. ARG, I'm dumb and confused!) all I really want to do is run away and hide.
How would I explain to someone that I really like them, but I don't want them to touch me?

Wow, that went from 'yay gleeful Valentines ramblings' to 'woah, time for Dr. Phil'. Gosh, I'm so darned complainy.

Wow, I'm wasting so much time right now on Gaia. There's a Valentine's Day event, and I only have a little bit more to go before I've gotten all the prizes. @___@; I'm a slave to these dumb events, I tell you. And here I feel like @$$, I'm tired, itchy, fat, and I have to get up early tomorrow to pick up the cat from the vet, make that last few onigiri for Maiko-sensei, then go die at work. And I'm still up late. On Gaia. AND LIVEJOURNAL! TALKING FOREVER!! XO

Actually, since I'm still on here, I think it's about time for more HotS progress. I was listening to This song and thought up a really great scene for the story~ It involves Adashino being somewhat careless during another storm~ Ah, I have so many gaps to fill... it make me sad. But one day, it shall be done! Yosh!
For now... I still don't have chapter 4 finished up yet... ._____.;
Though, here's some little blurbs for what to look forward to in the story~ (to prove that I really am working on it, slow but sure)

Chapter 4: "Koi to Karada, Hebi to Hae" In which curiosity is placed above well-being, and a dangerous discussion is held.

Chapter 5: In which a familiar face becomes an object of fear, and neighbors make mistakes.

Chapter 6: In which a new storm blows in, and more risks are taken.

Chapter 7: In which something important is taken back.

Chapter 8: The end.

There now, doesn't that just make you curious? X3 If only I were more of an author (and less of a procrastinator). Le sigh~ One day, one day~

Demo! To make up for the lack of HotS, here's a bit of the Uchisute backstory (untitled so far) I had been thinking of writing~ I'm not sure if I really want to finish this or not. I still can't tell if I like it. ^^() Lacks...something. But maybe it can just be used as a sort of script for a future manga. (I would LOVE to draw this!) Anyway... there's two more paragraphs that I'm not going to post~ One's not done, and the other is a weird place to cut off at (and awkwardly written). But hopefully it'll tide you over till I'm happy with HotS Chap 4.

~~~
It was common, everyone knew, for little skirmishes to break out amongst opposing yakuza. The occasional ‘kidnap and threaten so as to maintain one’s respected position’ was a typical occurrence as well. Uchisute had, on many occasions, both done the kidnapping, and been the kidnapee.
Such acts were essential between gangs, purely for survival reasons. And though the opposing sides of the Kurouto-Kusaru and the Misebirakasu-No-Kakei had formed a tentative truce with one another, it was still necessary to make a point of one’s masculinity, as it were. This was understood as one of the unspoken terms of their truce. So long as no one wound up dead or crippled, bullying was fair game.
Roughly forty minutes had been just shy of enough time to make Uchisute realize that this particular kidnapping was neither a friendly drive to the middle of nowhere, nor a routine, casual threatening. Normally, he would have expected the latter.
Now, though…
~~~

Ichijirou was the head of the Misebirakasu-No-Kakei Yakuza. He inherited his position at the age of thirty-three, after his father was accidentally poisoned by ill-prepared blowfish. The first thing he did once he became “Boss” was repay the chef responsible by forcing him to eat not a piece of blowfish, but the entire creature. In one swallow.
Consequently, the chef choked to death.
After that, there never existed a question of his right to leadership, the “Mise-Kei” –as they called themselves for short- obeyed him loyally (Read: fearfully).

For forty-one years, he maintained his status. Not once did any of his men think to betray him, and not once did any opposing yakuza boss try to challenge him.
This, perhaps, was because Ichijirou initiated the beginnings of the yakuza truces, eventually joining the Misebirakasu-No-Kakei and Kurouto-Kusaru in a tentative alliance.
What sane person would dare go up against a man who could call on the forces of not one gang, but two?

Now, at the age of seventy-four, Ichijirou found it prudent to summon his best men to him and make a grave announcement.

Tadanobu, Hatsudon, and Uchisute, two men and a boy who, through trial and tribulation had proved themselves most fierce and loyal, sat before Ichijirou respectfully. Like a man seeing his sons for the last time, the old boss gazed at each of their faces through clouded eyes.
Finally, with a dignified calm, he said,

“I am dying soon.”

~~~
“Hey. Here comes the special guest.”
Uchisute looked up upon hearing Shinbei’s voice, following the ‘Kuro-Kusa’ member’s gaze off to the distance. Five people came towards them, dust stirring into clouds from their footsteps. Unable to clearly make out the approaching figures, he squinted.
“You can’t really tell from here,” remarked Shinbei, “But that’s the boss himself coming to pay us a visit. Someone like you should feel pretty honored.”
Something in the man’s voice made Uchisute’s flesh crawl, but just the same, he retained his careless attitude.
“That’s ‘Iron Masaru’ then, is it? What’s he doing getting his tabi dirty by coming all the way out here?”
“Hey!” Shinbei snapped, suddenly defensive. “That’s ‘Masaru-sama’ to you, creep, and the boss of the Kurouto-Kusaru Yakuza can get his tabi dirty however he damn well pleases.”
Uchisute tried to seem nonplussed, even as he reached up to wipe a bit of Shinbei’s spit from his face. “Fine then. Don’t piss your pants about it…
Anyway, my question still stands.”
A disturbingly knowing grin slid over Shinbei’s lips, and as if at some inside joke, he and his lackeys chuckled.
“Oh,” Shinbei said softly, “He’ll tell you himself, once he joins us.”
Uchisute felt dread twining itself into a tight knot within him, though he didn’t yet fully understand why.
~~~

Hatsudon hadn’t been able to restrain himself. Upon Ichijirou’s grave statement he had begun sobbing like a four year-old with a skinned knee. He always had been quick to cry, despite that he was built like a brick wall and had killed five men. During times like this, Uchisute always had a difficult time trying not to laugh at him.

“Seriously boss?” This was Tadanobu, still disbelieving and stoic. It was apparent that such news had shaken him, but he wasn’t ready to take it seriously. Likely he wouldn’t take it seriously until the boss dropped dead at his feet. “To say something like that… With respect, I think it’s ridiculous to come to that conclusion just because-“

“Nobu-kun,” Ichijirou said to him, “My joints are swollen and my back is bent. I’m so very old, you know. My age in and of itself is inauspicious, and I think I’m wise enough to know when I’ve counted one year too many.” Despite such heavy words he smiled, a network of scars crinkling up the skin of his right cheek.
Sitting before them, the elderly mob boss accepting so calmly his surrender to age, Uchisute had to admire his dignified demeanor.
He had never seen Ichijirou in his prime, to tell the truth. Of course, older members told stories- But Uchisute was a young man still, only just seventeen, and ‘the boss’ as he was most commonly called, had only ever been an aged fatherly figure. It was like this for all the younger members, but even now Ichijirou was respected and feared.

Uchisute’s thoughts were broken by the boss’ voice.
“I called you three to my side today, because I have a matter I must discuss.”
Hatsudon quieted to listen. He tried too, to halt the flow of tears, but failed miserably.
Ichijirou continued. “I married once, you know. My wife and I, we would have enjoyed raising children, I think. She never got pregnant though… So here I am, an old fart with no son.”
Tadanobu had a small internal struggle with whether he should deny that the boss was ‘an old fart’, or laugh that such a phrase would even be used. In the end, he did nothing, and Ichijirou continued on without notice.
“No son means no heir. No heir means no stability, and where will that leave my Mise-Kei?”
Whether any of his men before him had an answer to that question or not, he didn’t bother to pause and find out. It wasn’t the question that was important anyway, but the decision he had come to regarding it.
“Now. I think of you three as sons, so I know that what I tell you next will be heard and obeyed respectfully…”

~~~
The yakuza boss of the Kurouto-Kusaru bowed in greeting; not too polite, and not too haughty, either. Uchisute mimicked the gesture, but kept his eyes glued warily on the man before him. There was a truce, yes, but given the current circumstances, there was no reason what so ever to abandon caution. Quite the contrary, it was because Iron Masaru had shown up that Uchisute felt every reason to be suspicious.
Masaru himself went straight to the point.
“I hear the great Ichijirou-geezer is about to kick the bucket.”
~~~

And that's it so far~ Egads, I hurt a lot. And I'm way drugged up~ And it's ever so late. Arg. Well then...Sleep time. What I really want is a conversation with someone~ Doesn't even matter who~
Grrr. No. Sleep. Gotta get up early. Sleep. *grumbles, downs mydol, itches eyelids, passes out*
But I'm really not a dog person. :\ *sigh* Animals like me, but I'm picky. Well, at least she's mellow and well-behaved.
One dog + 14 cats....? Lololololol, yeah, this is a good idea~

In other news, the soundtrack to Paprika is amazing. Also, everyone should check out Tekkonkinkreet (weirdest name ever), Milennium Actress, and Tokyo Godfathers. (All of these movies relate to each other through studios, directors, and the like~) They're all brilliant, and if you die before seeing them...well, then watch em in freakin heaven, dammit!

My hands smell like dog.
I'm so bored here. @___@ I wish people could listen to music underwater~ :D That would be fun. *nodnod*
Agent D of the Yakuza Underworld Express, over and out~!

Tra lala~! I got up early, and really want to go back to bed, because it's cold and I don't like it. .___.; However, if I got back to sleep now, I'm sure I'll ruin this interesting mood I'm in, and I'll also wake up groggy and weird, and feel like ass when I have to go to work. :P
So instead, I'm wasting time on the internet. X3 (I really should be doing something more productive, but...who wants to worry about something like that?)

Okay, so here's some stuff~ These are all things I got Kata to scan for me~ There's more that I'd like to post, such as the comic pages I had up at the gallery, lovely Christmas present Kanda, and some new gigantic Ukiyo-e. But that requires a camera, and so I still have yet to do it. Here's these though

First up! This is a wooden house-shaped piece of wood, which I painted for a fund raiser. This will be auctioned off with a lot of other houses decorated by different people, and the money that's raised from them will be used to benefit all sorts of good things that mum's job, Habitat for Humanity, is doing to help people. I don't really know what specifically. I feel a little weird about having some of my artwork end up in some completely random person's home. O_o; Anyway, this scan was fine on Kata's computer, but now the top part of it is yellow, I'm not entirely sure why, but... *shrug* Most of it is still normal anyway~

Next is a weirdly bishounen Crowley, which I drew for Kata-chan~ I don't really know what I think of him drawn in my style... It's a little strange.

Then there's so CrowMira, which is also for Kata. There's even a little story that goes along with it, so the pictures here go in order from top to bottom. Hee, it's like a gimpy comic. XD

Then there's two wiggy sketches of my ninja guy, Yume~ Yes, I'm a super geek and have some of my own Naruto fan charars. .___.; But they're COOL, and in no way do they ever interact with any of the original characters! Yume and the others are all just making use of Masashi Kishimoto-san's most excellent setting. :3 I'm not a lame geek after all, I'm an intelligent one! Yosh!

By the way, don't let these pictures fool you. Yume isn't really as evil/badass as he may appear... (This is a moron who accidentally stabbed out his own eye. :D Ninja FTW, right?)

And then...best for last. >:3 Kata hated me so completely for drawing this, and I must admit; I'm a little horrified myself.
I'm sure the picture speaks for itself:

La~! I found out that there's a quasi-decent photo program on my boss' computer at work, so at some point in the future, I'm going to make another icon base dump. |3 (productivity? lol, what's that?)

Edit: I thinks it's completely hilarious that when you google up "Uchisute", the first thing on the list is my journal. XD
Poor Uchi-kun. At least one person loves you~

I haven't felt completely unwilling whenever I have to go out and run errands~ It's actually a nice feeling to WANT to go get things done. My room is almost completely clean, I've picked up my art from the Lyndon House, and I finally go to go back to Japanese class after three weeks. (And my homework was finished, too!)
I don't suck too much at Japanese, despite the fact that I haven't studied AT ALL... XD I'm still not feeling very productive art/sewing-wise, but I think I can work through that.
Kata and I are making a sort of schedule to use as guidelines for whenever we hang out~ this is to ensure that we actually get a decent amount of real work done before this year's AWA comes up~We're not gonna go by it, but at least we're pretending. XD
Tomorrow, Valeria and I are going to Atlanta to see a Taiko (Japanese drumming) performance, which promises to be exciting. :3 I want to wear my kimono, but it's not very practical for this kind of weather. (Even though it looks like we might already be creeping up on spring...)
There's another gallery showing at the Lyndon house that I'm going to enter. I already have tow things that I'd like to submit, possible three~ So I don't need to worry about painting anything new before the submission deadline (which is in about three days). Hopefully something I submit will get accepted. I've never tried to enter the Juried Exhibition before. ^__^; Excited.
I have that meeting with Dr. Kaufman on Wednesday, and this time I won't freak out because I know where to go, how to get there, and I've already met the guy. Thing should go much more smoothly this time.

Essentially, there's nothing out of the ordinary happening lately~ I'm just in a much better mood about it all. :D HOW REFRESHING!

OH! And the best news of all!!! (Yes, I'm sad too that I'm such a geek that this is the best news...) I FINALLY FOUND YUKO SASAKI! I'm not crazy! She still exists! I went poking around on the net last night, and found a bunch of her songs uploaded on imeem! URESHIIIIIIIII~!!!
I've been searching for music by her for pretty much NINE YEARS almost, and found NOTHING. No one's heard of her, no one remembers her from Morning Musume...NOTHING. O_o; But she was really good, and I loved tons of her songs, and she's one of those big musical chunks of my childhood. NOOOOOW I can hear her stuff again! I almost cried where I finally heard "Gyutto Zutto" again, for the first time in years. XD
Yep, I was that happy, and I'm that much of a dork. What can y'do? ^_^;

HERE, LISTEN!

<lj-embed id="3" />

<lj-embed id="4" />

<lj-embed id="5" />

WHEEE~!
DILEMMA! DIAMINE! Do I preorder for the Mushishi DS game now, or wait till the price drops a little? Or should I bite my nails and hope it comes out in English? :O I've wanted a DS only for the sole purpose of getting the Mushishi game, so I'd feel dumb to wait~ But it looks difficult to read, and it's expensive, and I don't know if the cool gift baggie will come with it or not. Then again, getting it in Japanese would FORCE me to practice all that kanji... which would be good. Gameplay would be slow-going though. XD
On the other hand, I want to save up and buy that awesome foot-tall Ginko figurine~
There's also a pile of doujinshi I wish I could buy, and I really need to save up my money so I can get that Crown Vic, and also so I can have my own computer at some point.
ALAS! I'm such a slave to the dollar~!! D: MY HEART IS FILLED WITH WOE AND YEARNING! TROUBLE!!

In other news, I was surfing around Ebay today (because I like to torture myself) and stumbled across a doujinshi of a most peculiar nature~

CROSSXKOMUIWTFHELLFROZEOVERAGAIN!!!
I'm ashamed to admit that I really, really wanted to look, but the art hurt my soul so I didn't.

Cross: *eyebrow quirk* Now, clarify which part you're ashamed of...?

Solution?: Obviously, a new car comes first. .___. *sigh* Someone might even buy it while I'm busy saving up for it... Just..where else am I going to buy a perfect-running Crown Vic for only $400?? (Of course, I'd have to trade in my old car, too) Doujinshi can wait till AWA, since it's cheaper that way anywhoo. (At least for the stuff I want to buy) I guess I can always just keep mooching offa other people's computers for now. I've been okay like this for years, I think I'll last a little longer~ As for game and figurine? Those come right after car. Game first, because figurine, while awesome, is less useful.
*SIIIIGH* Why am I not rich, like, right now? And I shake my fist at yooooou, HOSPITAL BILL!!

*This program brought to you by: Hyula On <s>Crack</s> Caffeine.
Sasa~ the new TV drama is called "Kurama Tengu", starring Nomura Mansai~! X3 It began airing on NHK on January 17th, and will show every week on thursday.
So far, that's all I know about, it... .___.; And all the reviews for the episodes that people have seen so far are hard to read. But maybe Maiko will help translate. I really want to know more about this series!
I mean, come on! Nomura-san in a kimono, with long hair, through a WHOLE SERIES, instead of just two movies? KYAAAAAAA~!

I'm a dork.
Well, my life is holding me at gunpoint and telling me that if I don't start making myself known again, it'll have to shoot me and find another body to inhabit.

Oh wait, what life? XP

I kid, I kid.

I were sick! I are...better? Well, no. I are getting there though. And better news: I don't have to work while I hack up parts of my lungs~ yaaaay! I am officially a weekends-only girl once more! (So come by my corner boys. There's a discount if you cosplay)
WTF
So I still only have myself and Casey as projectionists. This is partially bad, and partially good. Bad because if one of us gets sick, there's only one of us to man the booth. And if both of us get sick, well...life would suck.
Good, because this means I get a few extra shift during the weekend, and won't worry about going broke before summer vacation. :D (Seriously, I'm a manager, yet they always manage to make me feel so inadequate. *SIGH*)

Let's see... did I mention that Casey got me the second Mushishi soundtrack as a Christmas present? :D I probably already did. But I feel guilty, because i have no idea what to get him. Though I did give him one of the very neat postcards that come with my DVDs. But that seems so piddly an lame. :\ CASEY, WHY ARE YOU HARD TO SHOP FOR? >O

While I was really sick, I had nothing to do but sit in bed playing Animal Crossing~ But Animal Crossing is the kind of game that... Hmm.. Let's just say, the events of on full day in the AC can be accomplished within five minutes. So I was sitting an contemplating so manga I had recently bought, (Ooooh, I finally got my hands on After School Nightmare vol 5... >3) and I came to the conclusion that...I'm lame. Yes. Incredibly, incurably lame. Someone like Kouyu Shurei, who can create such stunning images, manages to complete an entire graphic novel within a year! And that's a lot of work, if anyone's familiar with her art! @___@; A LOT OF WORK.
Me? I dunno. I've wanted to make manga since I was freakin 12. But I've not even completed ONE comic. I fail to work as fast as I should, my pictures are always lacking details that could make them better, I suck at page layout, and there's no way I could manage proper perspective or backgrounds. .___.
This may sound pathetic, but it's really the truth. I still have a long way to go, and it's kind of depressing. I'm 22, aren't I? What have I got to show for it?
Anyway, I was thinking about all of that, and I really got angry with myself. This is what happens when I have nothing else to occupy my brain with; I beat myself up, mentally. Soooo, I thought, "So what? You're no good. Neither are a billion other mangaka, and they're still popular. They suck, and they're still doing something, so what's my problem?"
So... long story short, this train of though eventually led me to decide to get serious. >:O

Also, I realized a problem I have. It's hard to explain right now, I'm not feeling very collected or intelligent. @__@ Essentially I decided that what I need to do is drop this fairy tale, romantic comedy BS and do what I'm really interested in, which is the Horror genre. :P After all, every story I've made may seem centered around a fantasy, or a romance, but I always, ALWAYS have to give it some underlying creepiness. Even with the happy-go-lucky crap, there's always something a little off or wrong, upsetting the cheery setting. So...obviously my brain is after something. Why not just go with it? I feel like I'm making zero sense.
It is definitely time for some tea~

I'm COOOOOLD!!! Georgia finally got its cold snap, and I'm so depressed. I was actually kind hoping it's stay eerily warm all winter, but I guess not.
I mean, sure, I was hoping for a proper snow, too. But DAMMIT! That's only because if it's going to be cold, I want there to be a freakin REASON. Winter, cold, and snow MUST go together. But if it's sunny, with no wind...WHY IS IT SO COLD THAT I CAN'T FEEL MY FINGERS INSIDE THE HOUSE? >O
*sigh* GA doesn't make any sense to me... I'll never understand, because I'll always be a Colorado girl deep in my veins.

Ah well. Enough of that, I guess.
I'm definitely tired of having a job. I cannot wait until highschool starts again fir the rest of the winter. I won't be making as much money, and I won't see Casey as much, and I'll be working a lot of doubles on the weekends...HOWEVER, I'll have mon-weds all to myself again, which means time to lounge around properly, do chores, and get all my projects done~! I feel like I can't function at all when I have to work every day. @__@ I don't understand why I'm like this, but I don't really have any inclination to change. I'm just exasperated with feeling tired. This lifestyle is crowding me. ~__~ I envy Ginko a lot sometimes.

Well, I actually had something important to say in this post, but I seem to have forgotten it since I was ranting so much. :P
OOOOOH! RIGHT! Casey gave me the second Mushishi soundtrack as a late Christmas present! X3 And then he made fun of me because I was blushing... Apparently, I'm still girly enough to get all dumb like that upon receiving a present from a guy. Hum. I feel a little lame~

Oh, look at the time. I've conveniently managed to talk about fuck-all, while making myself late for work yet again. :D Well, I wouldn't be late, but I really need a shower, so...

DOUBLE SHIFT TODAY! BUT NO REAL WORK TO DO! :O That means today will be spent starting movies and then playing teh DS, drawing embarrassing things, and making bonnets! WHEEEEEE!
Oh, I mean. Today will be spent doing my homework. Yeeeeees~

Okay so... I feel inadequate. These pictures I'm about to share with you will never stand up to the sheer amazing of M-chan's Circus Adventures.
I could go on with bashing myself and my manga-style storytelling skills, but....nah. That's boring. So on with UchiFrand!

First is the gunpoint pictures~ Yaay! I was going to fix this, because they're a little dis-proportionate to one another...buuut it's so infuriating to not have a scanner, and end up with such bad quality pictures. I just gave up and left these as-is. .___. Hopefully it's not too annoying. When I get my own computer, this crap will not happen.
Oh yeah, and I'll put text above each picture, so people can read what they're saying, since not only do I have the penmanship of a crazy person, but, once again, bad quality pictures do not permit easy reading.
Anyway~

Uchisute: You wouldn't shoot an unarmed man, would you?
Fred: Pfft! XD

Uchisute: Not funny?

Apparently Uchisute's sense of humor gets them both beat up a little, but I'm sure Fred still finds it amusing. Despite the fact that his lovely face is now puffy and bruised.
Uchi-kun, on the other hand, is still smiling, but ready to break someone's face with his foot.

Next to be the mini comic~ I has no real mangaka skills, and I'm not sure how funny this actually is...but the situation fits them, so...yep.

I broke these up into single images, since none of the pages had panels, and it was a little hard to follow~ This just makes things easier to see (if not a little annoying to upload)

Uchisute: ...

SFX: *swff*

SFX: *KICK*
Fred: HRFF!

Fred: Errrg...*hack* Uchi-*cough* Uchisute... That's a lot of HTML~ @___@; But it's also a lot of naked Fred, so who can complain? (I want to know what Mr. Maisch would think if he knew I were drawing things like this about him... He's probably turning in his grave. .___.; )

And lastly, Uchisute being badass.

M-chan~! I saw the comment you left on my last post~! :3 I'm sorry I keep doing this to you.
Had fun meeting Ayu yesterday~ I still really want a Hara and a Chubby. Those two models are pretty~ They seem like a lot of work though, so I don't think I could ever be a real collector. Just those two for me, please, and then I'll just use them from dress-up all the time. XD (And of course use them to take measurements so I could make stuff. Ooooh, money. :P)
Also, got Brain Age from Star~ Yay! It's so nice to actually have something to play on my DS! X3 I'm happy. I'm also considering getting Lost In Blue now... THANKS A LOT STAR, GOSH!
So yesterday was fun~

Now, because I have nothing much to do before work, and because apparently my brain has decided to go into a random fit about this guy, here's some... well, I don't really know what a person would call this. It's not an essay, but it's not really just comments on pictures, either. I guess it's just me talking endlessly. :D Yay. Don't click the link unless you're incredibly bored~

Today's subject is Uchisute~ I'll bet everyone saw that coming, didn't they? Uchi-kun is from the movie Midori, which is based on a manga called Mr. Arashi's Amazing Side Show, which, if I remember correctly, is based off of a well-known Japanese "fairytale". But you know, the original Brothers Grimm fairytales, not the happy colorful crap that Disney feeds kids these days. (Not to diss Disney... I love Disney stuff. It's just so...HAPPY. Fairytales were meant to be SCARY AND WRONG. NOT MUSICAL.)
Moving right along... Here's Uchisute in all his armless glory:

There now, isn't he handsome?
What's that? You say you can't tell what he looks like? Oh, well, I guess that's because of the bandages~ You'll get used to those. You'll even grow to love them~ Now stop making comments before you insult him. He's got quite the kick. :O
Uchisute appears in the movie right as Midori goes to seek out the help of the side-show manager. He's actually the first character (besides the manager) of that messed-up group to speak~ Which makes him important. That's logic.
He's pretty much a jackass throughout the majority of the movie; sometimes more so, and sometimes less so than his co-workers. (Or should I call them 'family'?) Actually, there's nothing in the movie that would ever give someone an inclination to like him at all, as he abuses and taunts Midori right along with everyone else. But at the same time, he (and the others) still end up pitiable (if not likable) once everything is over and done. But thaaaaat's a whole different thing.
So like I was saying, Uchi-kun is definitely a bastard, and by all rights I should hate him forever. Look, he even kicks little kids:

And probably enjoys it, to some degree. Yet, can even you deny it? He still looks pretty damnably badass while doing it. If anyone's allowed to kick kids in the head, I guess it'd be him.
Despite being horrible to Midori, and an overall jerk, he does seem to display a little more humanity than the others~ I'm not just say this because I like him. It's at least partially true. While everyone else is constantly physically mistreating Midori, (I say it that way because there's so many different things they do) Uchisute only touches her three times in the whole movie. Once was unforgivable, since he was trying to rape her. :\ Another time he simply leaned against her shoulder when he confessed his love. (Uchi-kun, you're trying so hard to be bishie. It's almost admirable) And then there was the friendly kick to the head~ He did, of course, say a lot of nasty things to her, but even then he showed a bit more self-reservation than his cohorts. Also, he was the only member of the side-show (manager aside) before Masamitsu's arrival to ever show concern for Midori's well-being. Granted, it was a very nonchalant, "What's the matter?" when she looked mortified, but not even the manager was ever so inquiring. (Though he did tell Midori to rest when she got sick) So Uchi-kun is apparently the only one who ever seems to give a shit that someone's got a problem. Or, I should say, he's the only one with enough of a human heart left to notice there is a problem.
Ah well. That doesn't keep him from being a creepy bastard:

But it does make him vastly more acceptable than most everyone else in the movie. Especially when you think about it this way: Sure, Midori was made into a slave and vastly mistreated, but she was also allowed out of the tents~ She did the shopping, she was allowed to walk around town freely, they never kept her chained up. She could have run away at any point, and they probably wouldn't have bothered to catch her. Uchisute even says it himself, here:

Yet does she ever leave? Nope. She does dream of going to Tokyo, and gets excited at the prospect of becoming an actress~ But she never seems to be completely inclined to run away a fulfill those dreams. And it's not like she wouldn't have been able to take care of herself, since at the beginning of the movie she's caring for herself and her sick mother~ AND throughout the rest of the movie, she's taking care of/helping out everyone at the side-show. So we know she can be independent. Obviously there's something that makes her want to stay. Could it be that Midori also saw Uchisute and the others from the perspective of a deranged fangirl? Could it be that she had some strange attachment to this weird family? After all, at the end of the movie, when she's leaving with Masamitsu, she (and the others) do show some sadness and familial emotions at the parting. HMMMM.
But now I've gotten off on a rant about the overall story, and not the main subject.
So now that I've blathered on about the idea that Uchisute could actually be likable, I think it's time to point out some of the traits that make him badass~ I mean, traits that center around him alone, and not about how he acts with people.
Basically I'm about it go into fangirl-mode. :3

First, Uchisute, despite having a distinct lack of certain appendages, has a sense of fashion! Check him out:

See? The subtitles don't lie~ Even he knows it's true. And after all, not everyone can get away with wearing a hat like that. Especially not when they're missing arms.
Hum? You say that fashion isn't everything, and has no redeeming qualities for a man who would stoop as low as to kick little girls in the head? Well lets me give you some other examples then, of what an interesting person Uchisute is!
Since we're on the subject of being skilled despite a lack of arms, when it comes to getting by without them, Uchisute definitely wins. For instance, menial tasks such as dressing or eating~ These are things that don't seem to cause him a hindrance at all. Just look here:

Here he's getting a coat, and in the next one he's having dinner. Note next to that big guy's head; that's not a hand holding chopsticks, that's a foot. Can you use chopsticks with your feet? I didn't think so. Can you even use chopsticks with your hands? It's difficult. So just try thinking about doing that with your feet. :P Obviously Uchi-kun has a massive amount of patience and determination, to have been able to learn how to do things like this. And though he's still a pretty bad person, he's obviously go good qualities like those. After all, when you watch True Romance, and you see the awful murdering gangster that Christopher Walken plays, aren't you impressed by how cool and together he keeps himself? Even though he's merciless and cruel, screws with people's minds, tortures and kills the kind, likable characters?
Yeah, that's what I thought. You can't help but think, "he's so awesome!" Uchisute is pretty much just like that.
Next, there's his talents regarding the side-show business. Not only can he do normal tasks with apparent ease, but he's also capable of pulling off stunts that barely anyone else would be able to do. Whether he had arms or not, this trick takes some serious skill:

Go on, you can't deny it. That's damn impressive. He's hanging from a wire by his freakin TOES. O___O
Also, here's a bit of fun information: The pose you see him in there is a pose regularly used in a tarot card: The Hanged Man. This card represents things such as voluntary sacrifice for a belief of ideal, the desire to exchange material comforts for spiritual advancement, sudden realization after a period of thought or meditation, and also it's a card of indecision and difficult choices between two possibilities. Obviously, there are more interpretations than this, but I think the artist was alluding to something here. Uchisute hangs above all the other going-ons of the side-show, seemingly inanimate while everyone else is working. This really had nothing to do with his personality, but it's interesting to think that the author would be using a character like him to foretell one of the interpretations described. I would say they're using him to to foreshadow something to do with Midori, but the girl he's hanging above seems to be the transvestite acrobat kid, not Midori herself. So I assume he's meant to be above the entire group. Also, if I remember correctly, this is a scene either right before, or right after the arrival of Wonder Masamitsu, which, for those of you who have seen the movie, would make a lot of sense.

Let's see...there's also the circumstances surrounding poor Uchi-kun's demise, which are awful~ This only makes me feel worse for him. Especially since he seemed to have reformed and grown a soul right before he was killed. Wonder Masamitsu, who at first appears to be kind towards everyone, and who also turns around the lifestyle of the whole side-show, shows his true colors when Uchi confesses his secret feelings for Midori. Masamitsu not only toys with Uchi using illusions, but mocks him by feeding a human arm to a swarm of ants. He also appears as a mirror image of Uchisute, but with arms, and reaches out saying, "I'll help you, take my hand." This in an of itself is cruel, and makes Uchisute's death that much more saddening. It's bad enough that he dies by suffocating on mud and dirt, but seeing Masamitsu in that form first really sucks.

I think this part of the movie was what made me first think of Uchi-kun in a different light.

Well, I've ranted quite a lot now, and I'm justa bout out of things to say. Well, not really. I'd love to go on a tangent about Uchisute and Fred. But it's almost time for work. So I'll give this one last argument in Uchi's defense;
If I had to put up with dressing like this, I'd be a pissed-off bastard too. He is most definitely wearing a tutu in this picture:

That, folks, should be enough to back my reasoning.

AAAAAH~ That was weirdly refreshing! What a nice rant. Sorry if you ended up reading it and got bored. XD I had fun though... Now... do I take a shower before work, or just put my hair in a ponytail?

So, just to drive M-chan insane, I'm going to save the best for last. FUFUFUFUFUUUUU~!

First one the agenda is another of my art challenges~ this one was from Star; B-PaulxEggplant Man. Beware, there is some horrific visuals involved...

+++

Next~ This is what a wonderful/terrible fanfic has caused. XD IT'S OOOOOLD, but we love it anyway.

+++

Heeere's the first wake-up Matt challenge. I don't really like this picture because aside from the messy hair and the lack of goggles, Matt looks...normal. The only reason I'm posting it is because I enjoy Mello's sneaky sleeping foot in the corner there. XD
From here on, all the pictures are going to seem deformed because apparently I was holding the camera at an angle. :\

+++

It is D, off to work~!

+++

Sketch of Uchisute I did while waiting to pick up the Bean. Started to draw Fred, too, but never got to finish him.

+++

Unfinished Mushishi picture~ This one is going to be a picture of Ginko and all the Mushi-afflicted kids.

+++

'Nother Matt picture~ I like this one. |3

+++

Aaaaaand~! First attempt at CrossxLavi. This one's...okay. But not okay enough.

+++

Second CrossxLavi~ This be the sketch. :3
<s>Hohohooo~ being a doujinshi fangil has done wonders for my knowledge of the male anatomy~</s>

+++

Colored version! I need to think of something to put in the background...

+++

And, because it was a little blurry before, here's a better picture of their faces. Good lord, I need a scanner so bad. @___@;

Wow, I hope all of that didn't end up being vastly inappropriate. .___.() It's rare that I draw things like that...<s>and show it to someone</s> I'm a little embarrassed.
